Big News – HCRFC Has Been Awarded the Scottish Gas “Energy for Tomorrow” Match - Funding Grant!

We are delighted to announce that our Club has been awarded the prestigious British Gas “Energy for Tomorrow” match-funding grant, one of only six projects in the UK to receive funding, and the only one in Scotland! This means we will proudly carry the Scottish Gas branding for this project.

A huge thank you to Chris Black, former Rugby Captain and Chris Bull, HCRFC Hon. Secretary for their support during our presentation to the judging panel a few weeks ago as their help was invaluable in securing this Award.

About the Grant

This grant is all about making our Clubhouse energy efficient for the future. Planned improvements include:

• Installing proper loft insulation to keep the main Club warmer and more welcoming in Winter.

• Replacing the old hot water tanks and gas boiler for the changing rooms.

• Installing solar panels to cut our electricity costs and reduce our carbon footprint.

• Fitting LED lighting throughout the Clubhouse and remaining floodlights on the training pitch

How It Works

The total project cost is £51,000.

• We need to raise £17,000 through our Crowdfunding campaign.

• Scottish Gas will match every pound 2:1, contributing an additional £34,000.

• Every donation up to £250 per person will be matched 2:1

Our Rewards Crowdfunding Campaign will run from Monday 15th September through October.

How You Can Help

We need our Members’ and local community support to make this campaign a success! You can help by:

• Donating to the campaign when it launches and getting friends and family to support us too.

• Sourcing Rewards from local businesses to encourage wider support.

• Helping with communications or the project plan.

• Sharing our Reward letter with businesses who might be willing to support - have a look HERE.

Rewards could be anything that encourages donations for example, a weekend lodge stay at a reduced rate for the donor or simple services like dog walking.
