Scotland U17 Selection

Huge congratulations are due to Struan Smith, from our successful U16 squad, who has made it all the way through to be selected as a Scotland Rugby National Talent Pathway Player for the coming season, which means he is now a member of the Scotland U17 squad.

This makes him the latest male member of the club to be selected for one of the national age grade squads, and he follows in the footsteps of Anne Young and Lucy MacRae, and is testament to the hard work and dedication he has shown to get to this point, along with the hard work and dedication of his family in supporting him along this pathway. How big an achievement this is is shown by the fact only 6 players in total from the Glasgow and the West region have been selected for the squad.

As a member of the team, Struan will receive dedicated expertise and provision including coaching, medical, athletic performance and nutritional

input.

It’s no rest for Struan, as he starts his full training with the squad tomorrow at Stirling.
