TWO Weeks to Go - Scottish Gas “Energy for Tomorrow” Crowdfunding Campaign

We’re just 2 weeks away from launching our Scottish Gas Energy For Tomorrow Reward Crowdfunding Appeal!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the Crowdfunding video day on Saturday, we now have some fantastic content for the campaign and for future use. The main Crowdfunding video will be launched alongside our appeal.

It was also great to chat with members about the appeal and how you can help. I have collated some FAQ’s below to help answer some of the questions I was asked at the weekend.

We especially need volunteers to help contact local business to ask them to help support by providing Rewards - preferably by visiting them or calling to talk about our Club’s campaign.

Crowdfunding FAQs

When does our campaign launch?

Monday 15th September –Friday 31st October

When can I donate, pay membership or sponsorship?

We ask members to make any donation, pay any memberships or sponsorship after 15th September through our Crowdfunding page once it goes live so every penny counts! Any donation or Reward payment is tripled.

Example: A £50 donation becomes £150 (plus any Gift Aid) thanks to Scottish Gas.

What is a Reward?

Instead of donating money, you can purchase a Reward that’s been offered by a business or individual (e.g. weekends away, vouchers, merchandise, tours, massages etc). It’s a great way to support while getting something in return and any additional donations are most welcome.

How does the matchfunding work?

All donations are matched 2:1 by Scottish Gas up to £250 per donor.

Do we need to raise the full amount?

Yes. To unlock the  £34,000 Scottish Gas match funding, we must raise at least our 1/3 share of £17,000.

What if we raise more than £17,000?

Any extra funds (plus any Gift Aid) will go directly into further Club development of our facilities, grounds and sport.

How can I help?

• Source business rewards - perhaps through asking work, family or friends or calling local businesses that you know.

• Spread the word once we launch - around Helensburgh and further afield.

• Donate or purchase rewards - remember every £1 helps reach our target and with match funding is worth £3 to our Club.

Can I run my own fundraiser?

Absolutely! Whether it’s a car wash, fun run, or quiz night, every effort helps the club get closer to the goal. Once our appeal launches you can then donate directly to our campaign page so it all counts towards our target.
