Who We Are Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Club has been at the heart of our community for over 100 years. We’re more than just a sports Club, we’re a place where kids take their first steps in sport, where friendships are made, where families come together, and where lifelong memories are created. We host local schools, community and armed forces events, the Highland Games with inclusive social and charity events, Every week, hundreds of people walk through our doors to connect, play, support and grow. Our Ambition Our clubhouse was built in the 1970s. It’s tired, inefficient and struggling to meet the needs of a modern, thriving club. Our energy bills are rising, and the facilities are no longer fit for purpose. We want to transform the clubhouse into a warm, energy-efficient and welcoming space, a hub for sport, for the community, and for generations to come. Scottish Gas Energy for Tomorrow Thanks to Scottish Gas’s Energy for Tomorrow programme, we’ve been awarded a £34,000 reward match funding grant, one of only six projects selected across the UK, and the only one in Scotland. For every pound raised from donations or Rewards, Energy for Tomorrow will make it £3. This is our moment, and we need your help to make it happen. What We’re Raising Money For With your support, we will: Install proper loft insulation to save energy Upgrade to energy-efficient heating and lighting, including completing installation of LED pitch floodlights Make the space warmer, greener and more welcoming for all, with solar panels to reduce energy bills and improve environmental sustainability Make the building more accessible and comfortable year-round, allowing us to open our doors more to the Community Every penny raised brings us closer to a Clubhouse that’s ready for the future. The clubhouse at Helensbugh rugby club has a great selection of beers and wines and is the best place in town to watch the 6 nations with a rugby atmosphere. The bar income that is the main source of supporting our grass roots rugby club, so please come down and enjoy the camaraderie through the six nations, whatever team you support.

Coaches: Paul Reaney, John Peniston, Stuart Louden, Alan Devenny and Tamara Chamberlain Morrison’s Academy had done well to push their way back into the opposition’s half before the ball was spilled into the touch line for a line out. Lomond & Helensburgh retained the ball at the line out, but Morrison’s Brickell read his opposition’s play well to intercept the ball and dash to the try line. Morrison’s Academy added a third try through front-row Jago McIntosh, who crashed over the line from short-range. Stand-off Henry Armstrong added the extras. HALF-TIME: Lomond & Helensburgh 0 – 17 Morrison’s Academy Helensburgh & Lomond came out in the opening 10 ready to put some points on the board. A charge down of the ball inside resulted in Morrison’s penalised for holding on. A quick tap and go just 10-meters out from the try line allowed Lomond & Helensburgh to edge closer to the try line before hooker William Harrison sailed between the sticks. Captain Robbie Devenny added the extras. Morrison Academy came back into the game in the final fifteen to score three more tries. A long range pass to Archie McRonald allowed the winger to score in the corner and extend Morrison’s lead. Number Eight Harry Blackie was next to contribute to the board as he crossed over the line from shortrange following a line our on the five-meter line. Armstrong’s conversion was good. Another score in the corner followed, this time from full-back Ethan Clark who was subbed off as a reward for his good work. Loosehead McIntosh claimed the final try in the dying moments of the game to wrap up the scores for Morrison’s.
